Toronto Cos Picnic 2011 – Touhou ver.

 The Touhou mini-photoshoot at Toronto cosplay picnic 2011, finally!

Anyway, this event still holds a lot of meaning for me because that’s when I met Amy and Suzie and got to know them better. Actually, I think Suzie first messaged me on deviantArt after Anime North 2011– but it was just an exchange of few words and plans. They’re super cool peeps and I’m really grateful that I met them. :’D /happytear We also share the exact same interests which is quite a big plus! Speaking about which– Amy also joined Cosholic blog (insert FF victory theme)! Hope to see her blog posts later.

I received their pictures from the cosplay picnic and there are 2 different point of views. It’s a bit hard to combine them but I’ll try my best to time and arrange them nicely.

Medicine Photoshoot Outtakes

Haha but honestly, I had an amazing experience with both Jerry Fei and QZ. Most of the outtakes pictures are taken by QZ. The finalized pictures by Jerry on his website and here. Please visit them for their great work and effort they have dedicated to photography.

My meeting with Jerry was quite funny, well- at first I was just a random cosplayer that he took a shot of at Anime North. After that, he uploaded the pictures, somehow found me through QZ’s photos which had me tagged. At first he messaged me through Facebook to let me know that he took a picture of me, so I replied to thank him- and it proceeded to him wanting to do a private photoshoot with me. ( And this comes from a person that I’ve.. never even talked to )

Of course, I was very, VERY skeptical at first. But then I’ve seen his work and his facebook didn’t have anything sketchy, he also seemed very nice so- just based on this judgement I agreed to go. (this is very dangerous please don’t copy me) What’s funny is that after I mentioned about my uneasiness through the conversation, Jerry just realized how wrong it was to ask out of nowhere too.

Then again QZ decided to tag along as a helper and … a driver. But it puts me slightly more at ease. Since I know I’m not alone with a strange photographer that randomly asked for a photoshoot. IDK IT MIGHT BE A GOOD THING OR VERY BAD. ( This also comes from a person that I’ve only talked to for like 1 minute or two. He was at the Touhou photoshoot and I just asked the link to where he’s going to upload his pictures at )

Yes, it was a dangerous decision. But now I’m back satisfied and could blog about my positive adventure with them haha. ( again please don’t try this at home etc etc )

Anime North 2011 – Touhou Cosplays

Highlight of our Anime North right here ^

While waiting for the Vocaloid photoshoot on sunday, the Touhous were just chilling next to the Vocaloids. Our legs and feet were SO TIRED AND SORE. We decided to squat down since there weren’t any seats around and we didn’t want to ruin our costume, haha.

Then it suddenly occurred to me that we were sitting like those Japanese brohous, so we also decided to pull off the delinquent look. ( … While Momiji still looking very .. normal )

Anime North 2011 – Sunday

Wen as Meltdown Rin from Vocaloid and Sherry as Medicine Melancholy from Touhou

It’s sunday!

Well– I wasn’t actually feeling the con down syndrome thing because it’s almost over, because I was going through that phase on friday. Haha. And the pre-con excitement for me starts around 1 month and half before AN and I could hardly sleep around those times– and when AN arrived, I was just feeling chill, haha.

Anyway, sunday morning was quite frantic for us.

We were struggling to finish packing and putting on cosplay and such before 9AM because everyone insisted on getting the free breakfast thing at the cafe. ( We stayed in DoubleTree ). Most of people didn’t wake up until 8. Hanzo and I woke up around 7 and we barely made it in time because there was so much stuff to pack, including putting on the cosplays and make-up too. Also I didn’t want to miss the Touhou panel. ;-;

At first we thought that the Touhou panel was at the TCC. So by the time we checked out and made it into the cafe it was around 10:20. ( There was a huge lineup for the breakfast thing ). And we rushed over to TCC, and after double checking, we had to run all the way to Radisson. It was a really long walk, ugh.

But anyway, we didn’t take much pictures on sunday because we didn’t actually go to TCC anymore.

The main highlight for sunday is the vocaloid photoshoot.

Anime North 2011 – Saturday part II

Second part of saturday pictures coming right up!

Hanzo and I pretty much spent the whole saturday wandering around taking pictures of people and getting pictures taken. I also missed the Vocaloid photoshoot on saturday because I simply didn’t remember where it was at. ;A; I made it to the sunday one though.

We also went to the 404s mature audience show, but left on the “break” time of the show. I liked it, it was funny but they should’ve announced the masquerade winners sometime later. ;_; It was way too late and tiring to listen to the long speech.

Anime North 2011 – Saturday part I

Finally a saturday update!

Probably one of the most packed ones too. On that day I went as Momiji (after hours of feet massage by Hanzo) and Chen at night to give a break for my feet. Hanzo also switched to Kanako Yasaka.

After hours and hours of walking– I almost gave up, but suddenly Morning Rescue has appeared!

Umai!

Anyway, silliness aside, enjoy the rest of saturday pictures. 😛 (I’m sorry because some of the pictures ended up very overexposed)
